Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as centre of design excellence in Asia. We are on a public mission to promote wider and strategic use of design and design thinking to foster innovation, create business value and improve societal well-being.

The Roles:

  1. Support the overall execution, planning and development of DFA Awards;
  2. Formulate strategies and tactics for different activities like call for entry, judging, awards presentation ceremony and exhibitions, etc., including budgetary control timely reporting, compliance with corporate governance policies, assessment of outcomes and impact;
  3. Build overseas and local strategic partnership and establishment of productive relations with designers, design companies and supporting organisations for long-term collaboration;
  4. Maintain and improve the stakeholder relations and overall experience;
  5. Assist in monitoring the team’s operation, motivating the subordinates to achieve targets and developing their potentials;
  6. Perform ad-hoc assignments and support new initiatives as required

  Requirements:

  1. University graduate with a minimum of 8 year’s relevant work experience in design industry-related developments (e.g. design education, experience-based programming, event/exhibition management, hospitality, marketing, communications, art and cultural, etc.);
  2. Proficient command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  3. Sensibility towards design and demonstration of strong interest in promoting design thinking, design knowledge and design industry;
  4. Competency in project management;
  5. Experience in PR, event management, marketing and digital event preferably in the design industry is an advantage;
  6. Positive work attitude, detail minded and passion for HKDC mission;
  7. Resourceful with creative thinking, network and flair in working with diverse stakeholders.
