Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as centre of design excellence in Asia. The Roles:

  1. Be part of the enterprising team to deliver city-wide scale and community-driven design programme from concepts development, liaison to implementation in particular on research, outreach, partnership & sponsorship, festival /event management, public engagement/ community activations, education programme and design promotions;
  2. Identify and engage suitable partners to co-create events and happenings that align the vision and objectives of the programme, as well as to comply with the corporate governance and funding requirements;
  3. Undertake effective project management, including budgetary control, timely reporting, compliance with corporate governance policies and funding requirements, implementation, assessment of outcomes and impact of the related activities;
  4. Establishing and maintaining strong relationship with both internal and external stakeholders;
  5. Work closely with marketing team or partners to formulate and implement of marketing and promotion plan;
  6. Oversee marketing collaterals and publications;
  7. Represent the programme team to attend activities, events, interviews related to the programme; and
  8. Conduct programme evaluation, documentation and reporting.

Requirements:

  1. University graduate and specialised in design, design management, arts and cultural management, public relations, marketing or related disciplines, ideally with a diverse sector / discipline experience;
  2. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in managerial capacity in design, design management, arts and cultural management, PR & marketing or related design disciplines, ideally with experience of large scale public event, international partnership or worked in diverse sectors / disciplines;
  3. Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Mandarin);
  4. Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders;
  5. Experience in city-wide design festival/ event and contract administration in similar design organisation / non-profit organisation / NGOs;
  6. Strong design & community-driven project and event management experience;
  7. Strong sense in design promotion, marketing and public relations;
  8. Experience in managing funding proposals and various vetting documents is a plus;
  9. Experience in handling publications, website, social media platforms is a plus;
  10. Good understanding on the local design scene;
  11. Detail-minded with excellent documenting and reporting skills;
  12. Ownership, accountability and committed; and
  13. An appreciation for style and well presented.
