Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as centre of design excellence in Asia. The Roles:

  1. Plan, organise, executive and be accountable for the end-to-end successful delivery of “BODW in the city” - a citywide design activation programme, including but not limited to art installation, exhibitions, networking events, guided tours and outreach/concurrent programmes involved;
  2. Monitor the work progress and undertake effective project management, including event operations, guest invitations and management;
  3. Work closely with various vendors and liaise with internal and external parties across public and private sectors, including designers and commercial sponsors;
  4. On-site management for installation and logistics supervision and/or inspection, perform quality check when required;
  5. Hospitality arrangement and coordination for speakers, designers and other VIP guests;Develop sponsorship packages to attract sponsors and partners;
  6. Any other support duties as required by supervisor.

Requirements:

  1. University degree or equivalent in design, art administration, cultural management, event/ exhibition management, marketing, government relations are preferred;
  2. Min. 6 years of relevant work experience. Experience in running programmes related to research, design competitions, design thinking workshops, community engagement, event & exhibition, arts and cultural, and government relations is an advantage;
  3. Candidate with the same education level but less than 6 years of work experience will be considered as Senior Project Executive;
  4. Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Mandarin);
  5. Bring a strong conceptual approach and a keen understanding of design thinking process and the role of design and interventions at public spaces;
  6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  7. Proactive, detail-minded, responsible, adaptable and resourceful self-starter with tactful communication and interpersonal skills to work among diverse communities;
  8. Proficiency in MS Office and Chinese Word Processing; and
  9. A team player with a positive attitude and a passion in design and creative industry.
