Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government in establishing Hong Kong as centre of design excellence in Asia. We are on a public mission to promote wider and strategic use of design and design thinking to foster innovation, create business value and improve societal well-being.

The Roles:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external parties, especially in cultivating proactive and professional communication with awardees (if appropriate);
  2. Liaise and coordinate with both internal and external parties on daily administrative support and operations;
  3. Implement marketing and promotion plan for the programme and/or projects to build heightened awareness and for expanding reach and impact;
  4. Plan, execute and support the operation of events including exhibitions, design dialogues, award judging events, presentation ceremony, and etc.;
  5. Digital outreach like social media, website management on programme promotion;
  6. Undertake programme and content research proactively and effectively; and
  7. Perform ad hoc assignments as required

Requirements:

  1. University graduate with a minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience in project management, marketing or in design industry-related developments (e.g. design education, marketing or media planning and management, experience-based programming, event management, and exhibition management, etc.);
  2. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin);
  3. Competency in project management;
  4. Demonstration of strong interest in promoting design thinking, design knowledge and design industry;
  5. Proactive, detail-minded, responsible, adaptable and resourceful self-starter with tactful communication and interpersonal skills to working among diverse communities;
  6. Willing and ready to explore the use of digital tools or new technology to facilitate the award programmes;
  7. Proficiency in MS Office and Chinese Word Processing; familiar with design software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat etc.) is an advantage; and
  8. Immediate available is highly preferred
