Assistant Manager - Events (2-year Contract)

HKDC is a non-profit design promotion organisation and a strategic partner of the HKSAR Government to advance Hong Kong as an international design hub in Asia. Our scope of work embraces promoting good design, cultivating design thinking, nurturing designer founders and design talents, and fostering enterprising creativity, collaborative synergy and innovation. Through content-driven programming and communication, we will step up efforts to foster wider & strategic use of design across professions, industries and the community.  

We now have an exciting opportunity for talent(s) to join the family.

The Roles:

  1. Work closely with Senior Manager/ Manager in taking up the planning, implementation and delivery of HKDC flagship programmes, which including conferences, forums, exhibitions, gala dinners, networking events and concurrent programmes with quality and in compliance with governance and administrative requirements;
  2. Monitor the work progress and undertake effective project management, including event operations, budgetary control, timely reporting, assessment of outcomes and impacts of related activities;
  3. Work closely with various vendors and liaise with internal and external parties, including internal team members across programming, marketing and communications, business partners, sponsors, supporting organisations, etc.
  4. Perform ad hoc assignments as required.

Requirements:  

  1. Degree holder with at least 6 years’ of relevant experience in event/exhibition management, communications or related fields;
  2. Substantial experience in managing large-scale international conferences/events and knowledge of design and/or creative industries is preferred
  3. Excellent quality management, time management, problem solving and interpersonal skills;
  4. Able to meet statutory, industry code of conduct, internal reporting and compliance requirements.
  5. Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
